Greetings!

It was finally the big day for the lovely Bryn and the smooth-on-the-dance-floor Joman. The last time we saw this energetic couple, we were having a ton of fun at the Universal City Walk in Hollywood taking pictures for their engagement. I was very excited when Doug from Furious Photographers invited
Kevin and me to second shoot for him at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles. Last summer, I used to intern for the LA County Department of Consumer Affairs at the Kenneth Hanh Hall of Administration, which was right across the street from the Cathedral. I walked by there all the time, but it wasn’t until this wedding that I finally got to set foot inside the beautiful venue.

It was time to start shooting and the three of us were determined to not miss a moment. Doug went to the groom’s house in San Gabriel while Kevin and I headed to Burbank to the bride’s place to get the preparation shots.

And we were finally off to the Cathedral! With much style and class, we were chauffeured to Downtown Los Angeles by a classic Bentley.

The ceremony was magical. The venue surpassed my expectations and the architecture was simply amazing.

The look on Bryn’s face reminds me exactly how she was feeling at that moment.

On to the quick private session we had right after the ceremony. Here are a few of the shots we got before the reception started.

The Cathedral was a fantastic venue with an on-site reception hall that was able to accommodate all the family and friends Bryn and Joman invited to be a part of their big day.

What a delicious looking cake!

I had so much fun shooting with Doug and Kevin that the time just flew by. Bryn and Joman were uber photogenic, as usual, and it was a beautiful day to remember. It’s always a pleasure to shoot with Doug, and it was really cool working with Kevin Vu. I know Bryn and Joman are gonna have a wonderful life together! They make such a great couple!

Anyways, I’ll have more posts to come, so ciao for now!

Later,

Hey y’all!

It’s been a couple of years since I have been here, but The Getty Center in Los Angeles is still as amazing as I remember it. Just off of the 405 freeway, The Getty Center sits on a hilltop in the Santa Monica Mountains. Visitors are greeted by the breathtaking views of LA, the Pacific Ocean, and San Gabriel Mountains. The modern architecture and the extraordinary garden coupled with magnificent Western art collection from the Middle Ages to the present creates a dynamic environment full of beauty and awe. It is a fantastic place to spend the entire day experiencing the sights, sounds, and scents of what The Getty Center has to offer.

I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to photograph a couple of my good friends here at The Getty Center. Dephanie and Willie promised to take me out for yummy food if I took a few nice pictures for them to put on their wall. The Getty Center, great friends, AND food?? Let me tell you, this was not a hard decision for me.

Check out a few of the shots we got from that beautiful day!

I used texture I got from tofurious.com to help add a little something to this detail shot of their rings.

What an exciting day! To fill up our empty stomachs, we headed to the Silver Lake neighborhood to dine at El Caserio. It’s an Ecuadorean-Italian spot that really hits the spot when you want a familiar taste with a twist. If you go, I recommend the llapingachos con fritada (cheese-filled potato patties with roast pork ribs). It’s amazing!

Hope you’ve enjoyed our day at The Getty Center! Stay tuned for more posts!

Cheers,

Danny

Danny Nguyen has been experiencing some minor technical difficulties with hardware but will be back shortly with lots of updates! Thank you for being patient!

It has been a busy and exciting month since my last post. A wedding at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in Los Angeles, the Wedding and Portrait Photographers International (WPPI) trade show in Las Vegas with Doug and Lawrence, more photo shoots, and meetings have been keeping me busy.

The photographs from Bryn and Joman’s wedding at the Cathedral came out stunningly, and I’ll have them uploaded soon. It was the first time I stepped foot inside the cathedral, and I was blown away by the interior. What a beautiful venue! It was a ton of fun shooting with Doug and
Kevin. With the three of us photographing the emotional event, there were no moments missed with our cameras. Even though we have similar styles, we still have our own creative differences, which almost always leads to a little friendly competition to see who gets the best shots. Bragging rights are fun to have among the few of us who shoot together. This is, of course, until Doug steals the thunder. Until our next little competition, gentlemen.

WPPI was such a cool experience! This convention and trade show is the photography industry’s premier expo and educational conference. I hung out with Doug and Lawrence at their booth to help them promote Tofurious.com and their new photo booth software. Their photo booth software is the only one of its kind and it is super easy to use. With a touchscreen PC, a webcam, a photo printer, and the exclusive photo booth software from tofurious.com, anyone can build and manage their own photo booth! Please check their site for more information.

I’ll be back soon with more updates (with pictures)!

Peace out,

Danny
